How do I find my bolt pattern?
How do I find my bolt pattern?
Count the lugs on your wheel, then measure the circle they sit on. On a 5 lug, measure from the center of one lug to the outside edge of the lug across from it. A 6x5.5 means six lugs on a 5.5 inch circle, also written 6x139.7.
What is the difference between a wheel spacer and a wheel adapter?
What is the difference between a wheel spacer and a wheel adapter?
A wheel spacer pushes your existing wheel further out and keeps the same bolt pattern to achieve clearance from shocks, struts, frame, or just to give your vehicle a more mean, aggressive stance. A wheel adapter allows you to change the bolt pattern of your vehicle to fit a wheel that would not otherwise bolt up. Example, running newer Jeep bolt pattern wheels on an older model Jeep & vice versa, or putting Corvette wheels on a Mustang etc...
What does Hub centric, lug centric, or hub & wheel centric mean?
What does Hub centric, lug centric, or hub & wheel centric mean?
Hub centric parts mean the spacer or adapter bore is the same as the vehicles hub diameter. Lug centric parts center on the studs and work with most OEM or aftermarket wheels that utilize cone shaped lug nuts which is majority of vehicles on the road. We sell more lug centric spacers and adapters overall since they are more affordable and are completely safe when installed & torqued correctly. Hub centric and wheel centric means the spacer has the same bore as the car and a lip to center the wheel due to the vehicle utilizing washer style lugs. This is rare and used on a few makes. See below for more details. All 3 are safe when installed and torqued correctly.
Some of our parts are hub centric, meaning the bore of the spacer or adapter matches your vehicle's hub. Others are hub centric and wheel centric — these have a raised lip on the outer face that centers the wheel to the spacer or adapter.
Hub centric and wheel centric parts are required for some applications, and the spacer or adapter will not work correctly without them. Toyota OEM wheels and Ford F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 OEM wheels are common examples. These are the two examples that cover most of all vehicles that actually need hub centric and wheel centric adapters, but again if using OEM Wheels.
A quick way to tell: look at your lug nuts. If they have a flat washer style base rather than a cone shaped seat, you need a hub centric and wheel centric spacer or adapter to center the wheel to the spacer or adapter. Nearly all aftermarket wheels use cone seat lug nuts and do not need hub centric and wheel centric spacers or adapters.

How thick a spacer do I need?
Measure the gap between your tire and the fender or suspension component you are trying to clear, then add a small margin. Most rubbing issues are solved with 1 inch to 1.5 inch. Going wider is usually for cosmetic look and to get a tough and aggressive looking stance!
